So, You Want to Submit Your Film to Found? Here’s What You Need to Know!

First off, welcome to FOUND—the streaming platform where we breathe life (or maybe death?) into found footage horror films. Before you hit send on that submission, let’s make sure your film checks all the boxes. We’re pretty laid-back when it comes to some things, but we’ve got a few rules to keep things creepy, cool, and, of course, in line with the FOUND family vibe.

No Lengthy Drama Here! Got a full-length feature? We’re listening. Got a short? We’re into that too. We're not picky about the runtime—as long as it gives us the chills.

Found Footage Only—Horror Edition If you’ve got a film that’s not horror, thriller, or maybe even sci-fi... this might not be the place for you. We’re all about the spooky, the jump scares, and the “what was that sound?!” vibe. If it’s supernatural, psychological, or even a slow-burn creep-fest, we want it. Found footage horror is our bread and butter, and it’s a scary-good time. Literally.

Give Us a Story (Yes, It Needs a Beginning, Middle, and End) We know—this one seems like a no-brainer, but it’s worth saying. Just because it’s found footage doesn’t mean we don’t want a solid story arc. We’re talking beginning, middle, and end. Make sure your characters go through something—and no, we don’t mean just running from the camera. Give us that sweet character development. Let us feel the fear with them.

Bring the Scares—In 4K (And Other Techy Stuff You Need) We’re all about the creepy vibes, but that doesn’t mean we skimp on quality. To even be considered for submission, your film has to meet a few important technical specs. Here’s what you need to check off the list:

  • A Clear Chain of Title: We’re not lawyers, but we need to make sure your film is legally yours. No gray areas here—own your footage, your story, and all the spooky goodness in between.

  • Licensing: Got logos in your film? That could spell trouble. If your villain’s wielding an iPhone in a gruesome scene, trust us—Apple won't be thrilled. If a character has a can of Coke sitting on their desk, Coke might be coming for you. As for music, every single track, whether it's playing faintly in the background or is front and center in a scene, must be licensed. Whether it’s from a stock music service or your buddy’s band, make sure every piece has the proper paperwork. No license? No dice.

  • Closed Captions: Accessibility matters, and we require an English closed captions file. Bonus points if you can throw in a Spanish version—we’ve got a growing Latin following that would love it!

  • Professional Thumbnail & Poster: If your film’s going to be seen, it needs to look the part. Make sure you’ve got a pro-looking thumbnail and poster ready to grab attention.

Ready to Submit? Awesome! Now that you know what we’re looking for, we can’t wait to see what you’ve got. Bring on the spooky tapes, the found footage fright-fests, and the stories that’ll have us sleeping with the lights on.
